How to activate

Download the Galaxy Care application from Galaxy Apps. In the application select “Insurance” and enter the purchase date of the mobile device. If a free insurance cover is available for your device, you will get a confirmation that a 12-month insurance policy is valid since the purchase date. If there is no free insurance cover available for your device, you can purchase it directly from Warranty Expert. Here, a 12-month insurance policy is available for the price of 9 months!

How to buy

Download the Galaxy Care application from Galaxy Apps. In the application, select “Insurance” and enter the purchase date of your mobile device. On the screen you will see the price for a 9-month insurance policy which will ensure a 12-month cover. In order to buy this insurance, you will be directed to the website of Warranty Expert where you will have to enter your contact and personal data and effect the payment. You will immediately receive an insurance certificate with the rules by e-mail. The expiry date of the insurance will be displayed on the screen.

The insurance against breakage and water damage is available for the following models of SAMSUNG mobile devices provided that the Galaxy Care application has been installed in them within 14 calendar days after the purchase date:

When contacting us for repairs, you will have to indicate the serial number of your mobile device. It can be found:
  • in “Settings” -> “Device” -> “Status”
  • On the packaging
  • Having opened the body of the mobile device, see the user instruction.
When you arrive in the Maintenance Division, you will be requested to produce the purchasing document, i.e. the cash receipt or VAT invoice.

Insurance regulations

Free insurance against breakage or water damage is applicable only to particular SAMSUNG mobile devices where the Galaxy Care application has been installed within 14 calendar days after the purchase date of the device. You can ask your seller whether the mobile device chosen by you has a free insurance cover.

During the insurance period, repair services can be provided 2 times.

In the case of each insured damage a 25 % unconditional deductible is applied. When you arrive in the Maintenance Division, you will be requested to produce the purchasing document, i.e. the cash receipt or VAT invoice.

In the event that repairs on the device have been already carried out twice under the insurance contract, the insurance contract is considered to have expired after the second repair.

Non-insured events

Your mobile device will not be repaired free of charge in the following cases:
  • the device was damaged by deliberate actions, or it is used not for its designated purpose and/or the manufacturer’s requirements are not complied with;
  • losses were incurred due to the repairs carried out not by the repair centre authorised by the manufacturer before the insurer has confirmed the insured damage, or the fastenings, controllers or buttons, SIM card storage cases, batteries, antenna or software were replaced or modified;
  • the IMEI or serial number of your device cannot be established due to any reason;
  • you are unable to produce the purchase receipt of the device or other documents certifying the purchase of the device;
  • damage was caused by unknown and non-established circumstances of the event (such as the time, place, etc.);
  • only the appearance of the device is affected due to scratching, bending, marking or impaired aesthetic view but there is no influence to continue to use it or for it to operate;
  • losses are related to the mounting, demounting and transportation of the device carried out by third parties;
  • the device was deliberately subject to fire or any other thermal processing method (for example, by melting, boiling, drying, ironing, heating, smoking, baking, exploding, heating with candles, using fireworks, etc.);
  • damage to the device is reimbursed under the manufacturer’s or seller’s warranty;
  • the insurance was activated later than within 14 (fourteen) calendar days after the acquisition date of the device;
  • in case you have notified of the insured event later than indicated in your obligations;
  • it has become clear that the insured event is not intended for the Baltic countries.

The insurance becomes valid when, after having opened the Galaxy Care application the first time and entered the purchase date of the device, you can view the information that the device is insured for 12 months. If there is no free insurance cover available for your model, you can purchase it from Warranty Expert. Having paid for the service, you can also see the expiry date of the insurance policy in the application. The insurance is activated automatically and you do not need to activate it additionally. If you cannot see such notice, there is no insurance cover applicable to your mobile device, or your mobile device is not connected to the network.

Your mobile device will be insured for 12 months after the purchase date of the device. The precise insurance expiry date can be viewed in the Galaxy Care application. If a device has been repaired two times under the insurance contract, the insurance contract is considered to have been expired after the second repair.

You can see the confirmation that your device is insured in the Galaxy Care application. If the insurance cover is valid, there will be a notice that your mobile device is insured and the expiry date of the insurance displayed in the application. The insurance is valid worldwide. If your mobile device is damaged abroad, we guarantee that it will be repaired at the SAMSUNG service centre in Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia.
In the event that the mobile device is repeatedly damaged during the insurance period, it will be repaired again. We will be able to carry out repairs for two times but the insurance will expire after the second repair.
Warranty Expert will cover the major share of the repair costs, you will have to pay only 25 % of the repair costs. You will have to make your payment at the time that you hand in the damaged mobile device to the service centre (before the start of the repair).

Warranty Expert will direct you to the nearest SAMSUNG authorised repair service centre.

When you contact the repair service centre by phone, you will be offered several options on how you can deliver the device to the repair service centre, for example, you can deliver it in person, send it by mail or by courier. You will be able to choose the most convenient method and time of the delivery of the mobile device. Having arrived in the Maintenance Division, you will need to produce the purchasing document, i.e. the cash receipt or VAT invoice.
Yes, the warranty of the device is valid after the repair as well. The repair of the mobile device will be carried out using new and original SAMSUNG parts and this repair will have no effect on the validity of the SAMSUNG warranty.

In the case of an insured event, you must:

  • take reasonable measures to prevent or mitigate the damage;
  • immediately but no later than within 3 (three) working days, notify the insurer (tel: in Latvia: +37167660631, in Estonia: +3726347347, in Lithuania: +37052683441) of the fact of the insured event so that you could be directed to the nearest service centre;
  • fulfil the insurer’s instructions, comply with its recommendations, provide it with the possibility to freely investigate and establish the causes or circumstances of the event and determine the amount of losses and provide correct information about the insured event;
  • having arrived in the Maintenance Division, you must produce the purchasing document, i.e. the cash receipt of VAT invoice.
